about

This album was inspired by the legend of Saint Patrick and the beliefs of the Pagan Irish people.

Saint Patrick was an English Christian teenager when his town was raided by Irish pagan warriors. He was captured and taken back to Ireland as a slave, where he both worked and learned the language and culture of the Irish people. While there, He kept his faith and prayed in secrecy. According to the story, God came to him in a dream and told him there was a ship waiting on the other side of the island, where he could escape. This turned out to be true. He managed to escape and make his way back to England, where he further practiced his faith and became a priest. In later years he decided to go back to the island and bring Christianity to the Irish people. No one dared to convert the Irish before him, because they were a proud people and unwilling to listen to outsiders, but because Maewyn knew their language and culture, he was eventually successful, and went down in history as the one who "drove the snakes from Ireland".

The lore of Celtic Mythology is rich and beautiful, and it was difficult to decide which parts to feature. I encourage all who listen to read more on the subjects listed in the song titles, as each one of these subjects could easily make up enough content for its own album.

As always, digital is set high to encourage digital download direct from the artist.
